A learner who started on the Skill Build Preparatory programme progressed and completed his NVQ 1 in motor vehicle, foundation modern apprenticeship and modern apprenticeship framework qualification successfully.
Since completing his full level 3 framework he has become a very valuable/productive member of the workforce and is carrying out a variety of repairs and diagnostic work and this is due to the knowledge and experience gained through the off the job training and the learning programme he completed.
The learner is now booked to attend a training programme with VOSA (Ministry of Transport) in the New Year with the aim of becoming a Nominated Tester for the garage where he works. He also wishes to further develop his skills and knowledge and has approached his assessor to discuss options in Higher Education.
This learner is now acting as a mentor within the workplace for an apprentice who has just started on a foundation modern apprenticeship programme.
