



The Modern Skills Diploma in Management, gives people the opportunity to work and learn at the same time. This programme is suitable for those who undertake management related activities. Learners must be enabled and supported to undertake this programme by their employer.
This is a work orientated qualification and learners must be in employment. Potential learners will undergo a screening process in the workplace to match their job role to the requirements of the NVQ in order to ensure that there are no barriers to achievement.
Embarking on a Modern Skills Diploma with Pathways Training means taking part in structured training, development and certificated programmes in;
Employment Rights and Responsibilities - i.e. those of the learner and the employer and the disciplines and representative structures of the sector in which the learner will work.
ILM Level 4 in Management - this taught programme will develop the occupational knowledge necessary and forms the Technical Certificate.
Key Skills - aimed at developing competencies in the following Key Skill areas at appropriate levels.
NVQ in Management - the learner will have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in Leadership and Management. This Level 4 qualification consists of 8 units. A flexible approach allows a choice of units which encompass a broad range of functions / activities from the Leadership or Management sector:

The NVQ and Key Skills are flexible and take into account organisational work patterns. All learners will be allocated an Assessor and Training Advisor who, in collaboration will advise, support and assess them in the workplace where they will be required to demonstrate the required levels of competence to the National Standards. They will also be expected to produce a portfolio of evidence to support their claim to competence. NVQs and Key Skills are verified internally by College staff and externally by the Awarding Body - City and Guilds.
