A Modern Apprenticeship is a work based training opportunity for people to gain nationally recognised qualifications such as NVQ’s, Key Skills and other technical qualifications whilst receiving a wage from an employer.
It can last between 1 and 2 years and provides an integrated programme of learning leading to the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competence.
The Learner will receive training from both the employer and Neath Port Talbot College. Training will be through a mix of on-the-job training provided by the employer and off-the-job training at College, involving knowledge based qualifications such as a technical certificate. Pathways Training staff will visit regularly to monitor progress.
Construction - learners will have the opportunity to specialise by following one of the following strands:
Key Skills - aimed at developing competence in the following Key Skill areas:
Technical Certificate - develops occupational knowledge through the Advanced Construction Award
Employment Rights and Responsibilities - including those of the learner and the employer; and the organisation, disciplines and representative structure of the industries that the learner may be employed in.
